When Seattle Was First Originated and Why Was It Named as Seattle
The location of Seattle is between the salt waters of Puget Sound and the fresh waters of Lake Washington. It is visible as a strip of land. The city is constructed on hills and around water. The climate of the city is marine and the city has prolific vegetation and an abundance of several natural resources.
Two brothers had migrated to Seattle along with several other people in the year 1851. This was the period of Gold Rush. Most of the people landed on the western edge of the Elliot Bay. These two brothers later migrated to the eastern shores. They then created a small settlement which later became Seattle. Some of the white settlers came to Seattle area in the year 1851. They established a new town site in Seattle which was called as New York. It was later called as 'New York Alki'.
The name of Seattle was kept after the name of a Duwamish Indian leader named Sealth who had made friends with these settlers. He was also the joint Chief of the two native tribes that inhabited the region.
