The Great 1889 Seattle Fire
The excess of timber in Seattle proved to be dangerous as it led to breaking out of fire in Seattle. This was because almost each and every building in Seattle was constructed of timber which is inflammable in nature. Therefore, even the fire spread very quickly.
The fire was very disastrous in nature. However, after this disaster, Seattle emerged as a stronger city. Later, the city was again constructed in brick and stone and this also stimulated the economy of the city leading to creation of newer jobs in the city. This stabilized the economy of Seattle and ensured that the economic downturn will not be felt in the city ever again.
