
What Are the Different Types of Postal Facilities Available from the United States Postal Service (USPS)
There are different types of postal facilities that are recognized by USPS. These include the following:

1. Main Post Office: This was earlier also known as general post office facility in a community.
2. Post Office Station: This facility is within the corporate limits of a given community. It is however not the main post office.
3. Post Office Branch: It is not the main post office and it is also outside the corporate limits of the community.
4. A Classified Unit: This facility is operated by the employees of USPS and may be described as a station or branch. It is generally run in a facility which is either owned by USPS or leased by USPS.
5. A Contract Postal Unit: This is generally operated by a contractor
6. A Community Post Office: It is also a contractual postal unit and is generally run in a smaller community where other postal facilities are not available.
There are yet other post office facilities. These include A finance unit, A processing and distribution Center, An International service center, A Sectional center facility, A bulk mail center, A remote encoding center, An auxiliary sorting facility, etc.
