What Are The Prime Objectives of Community Against Rape and Abuse in Seattle
A group of activists in Seattle came together in the year August 1999 with the objective of creating an organization that would fight against the different sexual assault services. A formal community against rape and abuse (CARA) was established by these activists in the year 2000.

Spaces for different constituencies have created by CARA for the people who are young, of color, queer, poor, incarcenated or have some kind of disabilities.
The prime objectives of the community include:
1. The group aims at collectively making efforts in order to fight against rape, abuse as well as oppression.
2. The community has a very wide agenda which is targeted at achieving liberation and social justice.
3. The community however aims at prioritizing the anti-rape work as the main focus area of the community.
4. Community organizing is used as one of the tools by CARA with a common goal of building safe, supportive as well as accountable communities.
5. The different community members of CARA actively participate in supporting group facilitation training.
