There have been several reasons because of which this park has been considered as one of the best dog parks in the United States. These reasons include:

1. Magnuson is the only off-leash area in Seattle with beach.

2. The beach area of Magnuson park was renovated in 2004 and it re-opened in January 8, 2005 in order to ensure that a larger usable area could be made available and a nice landscaping has been also ensured.
