The Olympic Sculpture Park Farmers Market Information

The Olympic Sculpture Park Farmers Market won't return for a second season in 2011 due to some financial reasons despite of the great success in 2012. Yet Seattle Farmers Market Association is seeking for new opportunities to serve this part of Seattle. We all hope to see it again next summer. About the Market

In the summer of 2010, the Olympic Sculpture Park Farmers Market gave a burst of life to the peaceful city of Seattle. The market was open from 3:30-7:30 pm every Thursday from July 15 to September 9. It could be found on the grounds of the Seattle Art Museum's Olympic Sculpture Park, which is located at the corner of Broad Street and Western Avenue. Olympic Sculpture Park Farmers Market boasts tons of veggies and flowers, friendly vendors from the region, organic cheeses and much, much more! Jazz and rock performances as well as outdoor social dancing were part of the Thursday evenings, which had spiced up the beautiful night of Seattle.

Olympic Sculpture Park Farmers Market invited over 30 top farmers, food vendors, food artisans, fishers, ranchers, and artists from the region. Cooking demonstrations presented by some celebrated local chefs such as Chef Craig Hetherington from TASTE, Chef Ethan Stowell from Tavolata and Chef Peter Levine from Waterfront Seafood Grill were another highlight of Olympic Sculpture Park Farmers Market last year. These great chefs showed us how to make palatable dishes with the simple use of local ingredients from the market. All the ingredients are fresh, nutritious and delicious!

As far as we remember, some of the incredible dishes demonstrated were new moon cheese, caponata, market fresh salad, hoagie rolls topped with onions and peppers, pan seared Alaskan salmon with Tuscan white bean panzanella salad, shaved summer squash salad, gilled sausages and much more.
