The basic idea for Space Needle came to the mind of Eddie Carlson when he was doing dinner at a German Restaurant on the top of the Stuttgart Tower. It was at that time when he made a rough plan for a restaurant in the sky.

When did the construction of Space Needle begin?

It was on April 17, 1961 that the foundation stone was kept. The entire construction of the Space Needle concluded on December 8, 1961.
