
Seattle Zoo Tourist Guide - A Wholesome Family Experience
You just have to travel few minutes from Downtown Seattle to reach the Woodland Park Zoo in the Green lake neighborhood, a must-see tourist attraction offered by the city. The winner of Best National Exhibit award for many times, this Seattle Zoo has the world's first gorilla habitat and many other wonderful attractions. More than one million of annual visitors to the zoo are able to explore more than 1,000 animal specimens and nearly 300 animal species.
The Tropical Rain Forest exhibit of the zoo is among its highlights. Jaguars, bushmasters, ocelots, toucans, lemurs and many such animal species can be viewed at this place. The Tropical Asia section has two parts - Elephant Forest and Trail of Vines. The latter part is known for conserving a number of endangered species. Siamangs, orangutans, Malayan tapirs and Indian pythons are among the popular highlights of this section.
Gray wolves, grizzly bears and arctic foxes are featured at the Northern Trail. If you wish to explore the amazing varieties of birds, you must visit the Temperate Forest section of the zoo. Pink flamingos, Asian cranes and red pandas are other interesting highlights of this part. Zoomazium, African Savanna, Bug World, Historic Carousel, African Village and many other sections of the Seattle Zoo are worth visiting.
The zoo has Rain Forest Food Pavilion and Pacific Blue Chowder House with great food menus for the zoo visitors. Animal toys, books, jewelry and handcrafted items can be purchased at the Zoo Store. Most of the zoo's parts are disabled accessible.
Seattle zoo remains open for all days of the year, except the Christmas Day. Timings and ticket fees differ for two different parts of the year. Discounts are available for the seniors. You can obtain maps to reach the zoo on the internet.
