City History

When in Seattle, you can't help but notice that the city has a lot of history in it that has been well preserved. Seattle traveling is made even more fun with the museums from which you can find some of its history information.

Notable are historical happenings of the city which include The Great 1889 Seattle Fire, The Klondike Gold Rush, The Boeing and World War II and World's Fair in 1962 among others. Details of these historical happenings are well preserved in the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle and others.

This Washington city preserves its history with an aim of informing the future generation and researchers have found this important too. Seattle history is also comprised of the Seattle's Black History that focuses on notable black people in Seattle. Seattle's Black history month features a lot of videos to be watched that have the life, work and activities of black people in the city.

The Mount St. Helens has a history in itself worth knowing. The mountain erupted one day and is believed to be part of history because it changed the city in a way. The Ghosts of Rainer is about the 65 men who disappeared on the mountain. The Kingdom, which was a sports house also collapsed one day.

There are great historical buildings that form part of Seattle history too. They include the Pike Place Market, Hiram M. Chittenden Locks and the Pioneer Square. All in all, the city has been good in attracting tourists, being the largest Washington city. Most of the attractions in the city are historical and cultural sites.

You can find the history with any Seattle travel information guide. The history can be traced far back even before the 1900s and although it has been up and down for the city, it has managed to survive most of its misfortunes.
