Nordic Heritage Museum

Travel in Seattle gives a tourist a lot of opportunities to be up close and personal with the rich heritage of the area, as well as the diverse mix of people that comprise the city's inhabitants. A tour or travel around Seattle's many museums gives a preview of the many communities that exist in the area, such as the Native American, Asian, Latino, Black and European roots of the city's inhabitants. A prime example of such is the Nordic Heritage Museum that pays tribute to the city's Scandinavian immigrants.

Located at the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle, the Nordic Heritage Museum is right at the heart of the Scandinavian community of the city. The many Nordic immigrants of the city - Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Danish and Icelandic - preserve their unique culture and heritage through the collections the Museum has. The Nordic Heritage Museum also serves as a community center, where residents could provide opportunities for sharing culture, as well as extending educational opportunities to the larger public.
