The Ballard District in Seattle is a downtown area of Seattle which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. The famous Ballard Avenue is a part of the district. The area has been conserved prior to the entry in to the national register by Ballard Avenue Association and Urban Conservation Division.

Those who are interested in eating and drinking in this historic place for them there are few choices which are indeed great and historic. There is one original wine bar located on the Ballard Avenue and the best thing about this bar is that they serve wine by the glass and along with that that one can order food which are lip smacking. Here one can pay to taste wine but on Sundays free wine tasting is also available. Next in the itinerary should be the Tractor Tavern which plays live country and music along with bluegrass. For those who after few pegs want to hit the dance floor the McCabe's is the one which is very well laid out place for the dance floor enthusiasts.
The oldest bar that is said to be operating since 1880 is Conor Byrne. This bar plays Irish music and sometimes one may come across poetry recitation shows as well. There are places where one can cheap beer and enjoy the same in good ambiences. Apart from this a host of restaurants are available for the foodies.
