If you are a freshman or a first time visitor and you need to go to the University of Washington in Seattle, the most newbie-friendly location that you can go to is the UW (short for University of Washington) Visitors Information Center.

- Coming from the North to UW Visitors Information Center

From I-5, you can take exit 169 pr the NE 45th Street Exit. Turn left and continue going east of about a quarter mile to 15 Avenue NE and turn right. Go straight ahead to the 15th Ave., 3 blocks to the NE 41st St., you would find Gate #1, turn left going to the Central Plaza garage. Finally, you can stop at the gatehouse for a parking permit and ask for more information on directions, if need be. The UW Visitors Information Center is at the Oodegaard Undergraduate library on the first floor.

- Coming from South to UW Medical Center

You can take exit #168 B from I-5 northbound down to State Route 520. After a about a mile drive, take the Mountlake Boulevard NE exit and turn left once you reach Montlake Boulevard and continue going north. You would pass through the fist traffic light on Drawbridge, then turn left going to NE Pacific Street. Remember to take the right lane and turn right on the 2nd blue sign that says Hospital Patient and Vistor Parking Area. Turn right on Gate #4 and go straight ahead to the Triangle Garage Parking where you can find an underground road connected to the pedestrian tunnel of the UW medical center.
