Seattle Storm is WNBA or the Women's National Basketball Association has its base in Seattle, Washington. The team at present is lead by Lauren Jackson who is an Australian football star and also the ex Connecticut Huskies star Sue Bird.

The WNBA with kid dance squad offers fan friendly and a family environment, in which fans participate in conga line on the baseball court in time-out sessions. Quad City DJ's music "C'mon N' Ride It" offers true entertainment in the kid dance squad. The icons used in the team are related to the rainy season. The mascot of the team is Doppler which is a creature in maroon fur along with cup anemometer placed on the head. Storm home games theme song is the AC/DC's Thunderstruck. The newsletter is known as Stormwatch. Women's National Basketball Association's mascot comes with 'Assistant to Doppler.'

It was until the 28th of February 2008 that Storm remained as the sister team of Seattle SuperSonics. There after the team was sold to autonomous governing association in Seattle. The Storm was preceded by Seattle Reign. It was a charter member of ABL or the American Basketball League. It started operating from 1996 and continued till 1998. Seattle was awarded the franchise of WNBA which started playing after a period of 2 years.
Though the time span between 2000 and 2003 did prove to be lucky enough for the Seattle storm, in 2004, the Women's National Basketball Association become champions for the first time in the last 25 years.
