As the jewel of the Pacific Northwest, Washington State Convention Center is centrally located in the heart of downtown Seattle. There is much to see and to do in the center. How could such an upscale world-class convention center be complete without convenient, easy on-site parking? Actually, there are two adjacent covered parking garages operated by Washington State Convention Center:Convention Center Main Garage and Convention Center Freeway Park Garage. In total, they can accommodate up to 1490 vehicles. To avoid the traffic congestion in downtown Seattle, the two garages are conveniently located off I-5 exits and can be easily reached via the eastside of the freeway. The Convention Center parking system features automated express payment machines, new central cashier and on the low side of rates. Washington State Convention Center parking garages are connected to Shoppers and A Contemporary Theatre (ACT) and Rainier Tower at Fourth Avenue. Thus guests can go shopping without hanging out and stopping for traffic lights.

Standard operating hours of the Convention Center Main Garage are from 5:30 am to midnight daily. Yet on non-event evenings, the garage might be closed earlier at approximately 10:00 pm. Standard operating hours of the Convention Center Freeway Park Garage are 6:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Friday. Convention Center Main Garage remains open on holidays. However, Convention Center Freeway Park Garage is closed on all major holidays including weekends. Prior arrangements should be made if you need to use the Freeway Park Garage on holidays for your events.

Washington State Convention Center parking can be reserved for groups on a daily basis. You'll be required to submit reserved parking requests and pay at least 30 days in advance. And the pays are non-refundable. Reserved pass costs $24 per vehicle for Convention Center Main Garage and $ 23 per vehicle for Convention Center Freeway Park Garage.

For meeting planners, they can buy the validation tickets for their attendee's parking. Reservation for validation tickets should be made at least 30 days ahead of your scheduled event. In and out privileges or available spaces can't be guaranteed with validation tickets. Validation ticket costs $14 per vehicle for Convention Center Main Garage and $13 per vehicle for Convention Center Freeway Park Garage.

Three Easy Steps to Accomplish Automated Parking:

1. After entering the garage, you're supposed to take a parking ticket and keep it with you.

2. Before getting back to your vehicle, you should insert the parking ticket into one of the automated pay stations. Or you can take it to the central cashier kiosk which is located on level 3 of the Convention Center. Cash and major credit cards are all accepted. The tickets will be returned to you after validation.

3. When exiting the garage, insert the validated ticket in the machine. Point the ticket towards the machine with the arrow and number side facing up. And the exit gate will open. You can press the intercom button if you need any assistance there.

Drive along 8th Avenue for a short distance over the bridge, the parking garage will be on the right side.

3) From I-90 W

When you're traveling from I-90 W, you need to head west on I-90 W toward Exit 3B. Head on and take exit 2C for I-5 N toward Vancouver B.C. Then you can follow signs for Madison Street and merge onto 7th Avenue. Then 7th Avenue becomes Hubbell PI and you can proceed on. Turn left onto Pike Street and you need to turn slightly left onto Convention PI. The convention center will be on the right.

4) From the Seattle-Tacoma Airport

If you're coming from the SeaTac International Airport, you should drive northward on Air Cargo Rd S, which is a partial restricted usage road. Then you can take the 1st right onto S 170th Street and continue to take another left onto International Blvd. Take the ramp onto WA-518 E. Then you must take the exit on the left onto I-5 N for Seattle. Drive along I-5 N and take exit 166 to merge onto Olive Way. Switch to your right onto Melrose Avenue and veer to the right onto Pike Street. Turn left slightly and Pike Street becomes Convention PI. You'll see the convention center on the right.

If you do not prefer driving, convenient public transportation system serves WSCC as well. Various King County Metro lines stop at nearby stations. Buses stop at Convention PI & Union Station, including routes #306 and #312. You can also take rides to Pike Street & Convention PI station, which is just 0.1 mile from the convention center.
