Green Lake

Green Lake is the freshwater lake in north central Seattle that is found within Green Lake Park. The park is surrounded by the Green Lake neighborhood to the north and east and the Wallingford neighborhood to the south. On the west is the Phinney Ridge and on the southwest is the Woodland Park. Green Lake is a glacial lake and the basin was dug 50,000 years ago. This was due to the Vashon glacier that was created by Bitter, Haller Lakes, Union and Lake Washington.
