However, if you are interested in modern music, you can also find plenty to keep you entertained. A good place to check out in Seattle is the Experience Music Project, although there are many other venues in the city that are also worth an exploration.
With the full name of Experience Music Project and Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame, Experience Music Project (EMP / SFM) is actually an interactive music museum in Seattle. Located in Seattle Center, the museum is dedicated to the exploration of creativity and innovation in American popular music.

- HVAC Building Maintenance Technician
This is a full-time job, with responsibilities of operating and maintaining the facility's systems including, but not limited to HVAC Systems, routine and emergency repairs to electrical systems, plumbing equipment (systems and fixtures) and other facility improvements like doors, locks and other equipment.
The basic qualifications for this position include a high school diploma and a minimum of two years' experience in the field of general facility maintenance, a valid Washington State Driver's license, a valid Washington State Maintenance or Journeyman Electrician's license. - AV Ops Technician
As an employee in this position, you are responsible for participating in the day-to-day audio, video, control and automated lighting system requirements for EMP. The specific duties may include design, installation, certification, maintenance and more.
To apply for this position, you must possess a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. A minimum of five years experience in installation, maintenance and operation of complex live sound reinforcement, automated lighting or video systems are also required.

- Visitor Services Representative (VSR) - Temporary, Seasonal
VSRs promote a positive visitor experience while enforcing museum procedures, making sure that the visitors' impression of the museum is a wonderful one. They should have comprehensive knowledge of the facilities, exhibitions, and activities, responsible for visitor greeting and orientation and maintaining visitor materials.

Internship Opportunities: Are you looking for a hands-on learning experience? Do you want to gain experience in a dynamic, exciting and creative environment? If so, join the EMP internships. There are a variety of internship opportunities available at the museum for students aged 16 and up with an interest in music, strong written and oral communication skills and solid computer skills to support program development and execution.
Internships at the museum span a wide range of interests, with working hours between 15 and 40 hours per week for a suggested three-month period. Please note EMP offers unpaid internship opportunities for only students seeking academic credit or professional growth and enrichment.
To be an intern at the museum, you should submit a cover letter, resume and two design samples to internships@empsfm.org. Make sure to indicate the position in the subject and describe how the position matches your qualifications and goals in the cover letter. Applications for internships are accepted on a rolling basis for all terms (winter, spring, summer and fall).

Volunteer Opportunities: In addition to job and internship opportunities, volunteering is also a great way to get your foot in the door to the museum. EMP also provides plenty of community volunteer opportunities at the museum. Best of all, these volunteers are entitled to a variety of benefits, including

To be a volunteer for EMP, you are at least a senior in high school (if summer, entering senior year in the fall). You are also able to make the required time commitment of the volunteer position. Additionally, successful completion of background check and necessary training are also required.
