The Experience Music Project or the EMP has opened in 2000. It shares the same building with the Science Fiction Museum. The EMP is all about the exploration of innovation and creativity of different people and groups in popular music. They blend interactive and interpretative exhibitions with technology. What is the Experience Music Project

This is a project that was started by the Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen for the purpose of exploring the history of the popular known music. Its foundation was in 2000 when different popular music were collected and placed for exhibition. The Experience Music Project is therefore meant to pay tribute to all categories of popular music from different parts of the world. This gives more experience to music lovers. Visiting this museum will enable you see a collection of music artifacts of over 80,000 in number.

On May 23 to August 16, 2009, EMP | SFM will feature "Jim Henson's Fantastic World". Jim Henson is a famous media person-an artist and puppeteer. He is also a director and producer. His exhibit would feature the characters that he had brought to life like Big Bird and Kermit the Frog of Sesame Street. His original artworks would also be displayed in the gallery.
