
Green Lake
Green Lake is considered as one of Seattle's most popular parks. It is an expanse of water and green in the middle of a densely populated neighborhood that continues to attract thousand of people to Seattle travels.
The park not only draws crowd but also serves as a preserve for various species of plants and trees as well as different waterfowl and birds. The path around the lake gives the perfect recreational spot for bikers, walkers, runners and skaters. Other people would visit the park for picnics, boating and swimming.
Green Lake was originally a part of the grand Olmsted Plan which created a series of interconnected green spaces around the city. Until now the design of the park still shows the vision of Olmsted. The pedestrian lane that surrounds this park is bidirectional and the other wheel path is counterclockwise or unidirectional. Since it is a major destination for people who want to find some peach and exercise, Qigong classes, soccer, baseball, lawn bowls are also held in this area.

Here are more Seattle travel info, at the edge of the park, you will find the Derek Baker Memorial Boccie Ball Club, the Woodland Park Lawn Bowling Club and a midnight bicycle race every month.
Also at Green Lake Park, there is a Seattle Public theater, a small but popular venue for theatrical plays. It is located at the Bathhouse which was built in 1927 close to an outdoor swimming area that has concrete steps which leads into the water. In 1929 after several drownings, a lifeguard station and boat were built close to it.
