The Gas Works Park in Seattle
Seattle has always been a park crazy city, and I mean that in a good way. No other city I know has as many beautiful parks in close proximity and not many of them can offer this much scenic beauty. Small wonder then that most of the Seattle hotel deals have some or the other ongoing offer with parks in and around the hotel location. One of the better known parks in Seattle is the Gas Works Park.
About the Park
The Gas Works Park is considered to be a historic landmark in the Seattle area. This was the place where the first gas production plant was constructed. That ran well until the late 1950's when another means of energy was procured. The city, in a bid to clean up years of disuse, acquired the place and converted it into a fine and inviting park for the use of residents and tourists alike.

Rally Point
Although the Gas works Park is rather isolated when compared to a number of other parks in Seattle, it has been an interesting park since its very inception. The Gas Works Park has been known as a rally point for protesters. When the long drawn Gulf War was on, the Gas Works Parks was the centre of a number of protests. This event was termed the Peace Works Park.

Kite Place
Since the Gas Works Park is a favourite place to fly kites, what better business to accommodate here than a kite shop? Well, that is what the Gas Works Park Kite Shop is all about. Here, you can get a whole lot of varieties of kites, windsocks, outdoor games and more. So even if you don't happen to carry anything with you, you can always drop by for a little bit of Seattle to make your outing an unforgettable day.
