Alki Beach Park

A Seattle, Washington travel could not be complete without a visit to its memorable landmarks and natural wonders. Alki Beach Park, a wide expanse of sandy beach, is one such area. Seattle travel guides have long recommended this area to many tourists and travelers alike, and its landmarks reflect the long, colorful history of the state and the country.

Alki Beach Park could be found in West Seattle, and could be reached by various modes of transportation. From downtown Seattle, one could choose from traveling by car and even by the Metro Water Taxi Service. Alki Beach Park is very accessible from the downtown, and it takes less than an hour to get to the site.

American settlers first discovered Alki Beach in the 19th century, and these same people were warmly welcomed by native Americans led by Chief Seattle. Eventually, these settlers formed a community along the beach, and spread out to many directions along the state of Washington. As early as 1888, shuttle services have been in place from the beach to downtown Seattle. Until today, Alki Beach is a very popular site for locals, as well as tourists who want to experience its nice environs.
